Agenda:

This project aims to develop brand identity for HLM Architects. They have a proud history of producing architecture that helps improve people’s lives. Their design philosophy puts people at its centre.

Keywords were structural, bold and impactful. Playing around with negative space, our team were inspired by the beautiful light and shadows of the brutalist-styled building the founders first started their company in.

My role:
Research to better understand the client’s needs
Logo iteration & development
Mock-ups (main)

Agenda:

By offering a creative and entertaining alternative to the conventional convenience store experience, our project aims to uplift the lives of those who will be without social support and cooking abilities during the epidemic.

The app offers a number of features aimed at inspiring users to prepare meals using simple convient store foods and distribute their recipes to others for
social connection.

My Role:

In our team of 5, we hosted user tests and surveys to back up our combined research and created the process report together.

As for me, I focused on designing the story telling and illustration part visual novel, and the data visualization of the User experience report.

Process:

discover define develop deliver

  1. Research - Observations during field Trips, Surveys, literature research

  2. Ideate - Identify problems, using pov statements (user personas)

  3. Prototyping & Ideation

  4. User Test - Iterate & Improvements based on feedback

This publication, “POTLUCK, together“ serves as a conversation deck/experimental publication designed to acquaint uk international students with the experiences of international students studying abroad as well as relevant conversation topics.

When prompted to strike up a dialogue with someone international, some people may be reluctant because they are unsure of what to say. Thus, this publication serves as an invitation for readers to participate in the discussion between the two people from different cultures. Every card has a topic on it along with questions for you to ask each other to learn more about each other.

Mala hotpot is a heartwarming asian dish that is often shared between family and friends. I am from Hong Kong and my collaborator, Jireh Kim, is from Korea.

This has become a precious memory for both of us that is very relevant through our uni lives living here in the UK. Hence, hotpot is chosen for this project since it’s a kind of food that people congregate to eat and converse over.

  My Role/Skills:

Production: Laser cut,
book assembling

Ice gem cookies are a nostalgic treat for many, often associated with fond childhood memories.
By combining a familiar snack with a traditional game, chinese checkers, the design appeals to a wide audience, from children to adults who remember both the cookies and the game fondly.

The shape and structure of the packaging is designed to mimic the geometric patterns found in Chinese checkers, such as a hexagonal box or a star-shaped window that reveals the cookies inside.

The packaging includes an interactive component, such as a miniature game board laser cut in the very box that holds the biscuits so users can play the game with the cookies

This encourages users to engage with the packaging beyond its primary function, enhancing the overall experience and making the product memorable.

Wrath
Gluttony
Greed
Envy
Sloth
Pride
Lust

Agenda:

This is a series of experimental typograhic posters of the seven deadly sins known as pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth.

After researching about the symbolic elements of seven deadly sins, seven respective colours are chosen for each sin.

The keyword of this project is distortion. Rather than using icons to symbolise each sin, the shape/form and the atmosphere of the typographic posters are used to resemble the topic. Hence, the distorted forms of the letters vividly resembles the guilts and desires that we hold inside.

Agenda:

The purpose of this website is to educate people about grief and provide people a space for mourning. “You can’t truly heal from a loss until you allow yourself to really feel the loss.” - Mandy hale. Therefore, I would like to create a design which allows people to honour their loved ones who passed away and grief in a healthy way. The main keywords that are chosen are therapeutic, unfiltered and interactive. I want to create a spiritual, calming and peaceful experience for people who are dealing with pain that comes along with grief.

The most common problem is that people tend to ignore grief and let it manifest. My design is to help people understand and accept these emotions, also giving them a space to mourn with others, not by their own.
